Guerlain Terracotta Kohl

Happy Sunday, my lovelies! I hope you’re all well. Cold weather aside, I’ve not had such a great start to October this year but I’m hoping things will look up very soon for me - fingers crossed! I few weeks ago, I headed out into town & picked up a little gem from the GUERLAIN counter. It was non other than the TERRACOTTA KOHL EYE POWDER in the colour BLEU. Knowing me, the packaging sold it to me straight away! My grandma used to use something similar, which a lot of her Arabic friends swore by. It was called ‘surma’ which was very similar to this. I grew up wearing it when I was little (you could say that my love for beauty products runs in my blood!).

Guerlain Terracotta Kohl Eye Powder in Bleu RRP £23 available from HERE.

For £23 you’re basically paying for the brand itself, because you can get similar powder eye liners from Asian/Arabic supermarkets for a few pounds. But, to be honest I really didn’t mind the price tag, as I felt like treating myself :) It comes with a stick which you run along both upper & lower waterlines - so it’s super easy to apply. I would say to put this on BEFORE any of our other make-up as the powder can fall onto your face.

It’s such a BEAUTIFUL blue colour (which I wish was a little brighter!) & works really well with brown eyes. It lasts me pretty much the whole day. Personally, I opted for the blue colour as the black didn’t do anything for me. I like to get little bits & bobs in colours, textures, looks & feels of things that I wouldn’t necessarily be able to get a hold of.

If you know me, you’ll know that I love a pop of colour in my beauty regime… Whether that’s a bright eye or bright lip, it’s something I feel everyone can wear! Here’s a quick run down of what I wore in this look…

Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation
MUFE HD Powder
Sleek Contour Kit
Tipsy Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 hour blush
Sun Rush MAC Lustre Drops
Rimmel Exaggerate Liquid Liner in brown
Revitalish Mascara
Coy lip crayon by Topshop
Turkish Delight lip gloss by NARS
Angel Delight Cream Puff by Collection 2000

Have you tried anything from Guerlain before? I have some of their perfumes, a liquid blush & this eye liner & so far I’m really pleased with their make-up range! I will definitely be keeping an eye out for them :) Here’s to another week of work/uni/school! And… For any of you that have had a rubbish week like me, I’m hoping it’s 100x better than the last :)

Thank you! I don’t wear contacts so I wouldn’t be able to let you know what it would be like with contact lenses - I’m sure it’ll be fine?

I’ve always wanted a kohl pencil. Just too scared I’d wind up looking like a racoon. o_O You did a great job with it.

hello there! i know this has no relevance to your post (which is BEAUTIFUL by the way, i have the kohl in black!)
I’ve just purchased the Nars Sheer Glow and i’m having ALOT of trouble applying it! My skin is very very dry so I moisturise with LUSH Skin Drink, which leaves a slight oily film on my skin. How can I apply the foundation without it slightly caking on my acne scars on my skin?? I powder with mac MSF Natural to make sure it lasts all day

Thank you so much for your help! I follow you on twitter, I wonder if you can find me

    xx

    • Kaushal says:

Hiya! Have you tried using an ultra moisturising cream before applying foundation? I would avoid using any foundations which have powders in it, if you have dry skin! Also, try using a HD powder instead of the MAC MSF? That might do the trick for you :)

I hope that helps? Send me your Twitter name & I’ll follow you x
