Highlighter - Revlon Photoready Skinlights 100 Bare Ligh Review Swatches 01

Photoready Skinlights Face Illuminator by Revlon in 100 Bare Light £11.99

Over on my Instagram page, I’m always putting pictures of make-up, food, my face, more make-up and even more food. Last week, I posted a picture of Revlon’s new Photoready Skinlights Face Illuminator and got a rush of comments and questions asking what it was like.

Now I’m not gonna lie, I love a good highlighter/illuminator! So seeing this in one of the American drugstores the other week, I knew this was going to make it’s sneaky way into my shopping basket. And so it did and so I’m writing this post :)

One of the reasons why I picked this up was because it has a nude undertone to it. Most of my illuminators have either a gold or pearly/silver undertone to it. I was drawn to the texture, colour and sleek packaging of it. It’s really lightweight and doesn’t feel like you’ve got an extra layer of make-up on which is great.

It’s blends in beautifully and leaves your skin shimmering, even in the winter sun! I would say it’s beautiful to wear during the darker months and you want something to brighten up your skin. Or for those whole aren’t comfortable with wearing harsher illuminators or highlighters.

The above picture is with MAC’s Strobe Cream on top and Revlon’s Photoready Skinlights Illuminator in Bare Light at the bottom. It just give a really good comparison of the different between the two. I would say the texture of this is very similar to MAC’s Lustre Drops. I like to mix this into my foundation to give me a winter glow :)

I’m so glad I picked this up from the states. It’s such a beautiful illuminator and so different from the others in my collection! As you can see, it gives you that glowing look without feeling like a shiny disco ball :) I suppose you can also use this as a highlighter by dabbing this onto the high points of your face - whatever floats your boat.

What are your thoughts on illuminators? Do you love them? Or haven’t tried them?
