Wedding Celebrations

A couple of weeks ago I attended a wedding… It was utterly beautiful! I got to spend lots of time with the bride & her wonderful family! I’m sure some of you have been waiting for this post to let me get straight to it!

This is the sari I wore to the mehndi (henna) night! I wanted something colourful, yet light as I knew dancing would be involved! As soon as I saw this in the shops I knew I had to have it :) I LOVE the colour combination, it’s really different!

FACE
Nars Sheer Glow mixed with MAC Face & Body.
Mineralize Skin Finish Powder by MAC.
Garnier tinted eye roll on as concealer.

CHEEKS
Hoola, Posie tint & High Beam as a high light.

EYES
Vex, Green Smoke & Juxt on my lid. Intoxicate & Showstopper on the crease. Retrospeck in my inner corner (all MAC eye shadows). Virgin by UD under my brow bone. Benefit Magic Ink top liner, SuperSHOCK Gel by Avon on my upper & lower waterline. Zoom Lash Mascara.

LIPS
Turkish Delight by Nars & Carmex (they’ve both pretty much come off by this picture though!).

This is the sari that I wore to the pre-wedding ceremony. It’s a gorgeous half net sari - the colour is super nice, I don’t own anything like it! The bride got me this especially all the way from India :)

FACE
MAC Studio Sculpt mixed with MAC Face & Body.
Mineralize Skin Finish Powder.
Garnier tinted eye roll on as concealer.

CHEEKS
Hoola, Candid Coral by ELF & High Beam as a high light.

EYES
Vex & Cranberry on my lid & Showstopper on the crease. Shroom in my inner corner (all MAC eye shadows). Virgin by UD under my brow bone. Benefit Magic Ink top liner, SuperSHOCK Gel by Avon on my upper & lower waterline. Zoom Lash Mascara.

LIPS
Vegas Volt & Indulge intense lip gloss by Illamasqua.

This is the sari I wore to the wedding. I went for something different, as this isn’t your traditional sari. I literally wrapped it around me three times & I was done! HASSLE FREE :) I was drawn to this one because of the style & the colours - super summery!

FACE
MAC Studio Sculpt mixed with MAC Face & Body.
Mineralize Skin Finish Powder.
Garnier tinted eye roll on as concealer.

CHEEKS
Hoola, Cha Cha tint & High Beam as a high light.

EYES
Vex the my lid with Intoxicate & Showstopper on the crease (all MAC eye shadows). Virgin by UD under my brow bone. Benefit Magic Ink top liner, Brown eye pencil by Estée Lauder on my upper & lower waterline. They’re Real Mascara by Benefit & SUPER LUSH GLAMOUR LASHES by Girls with Attitude.

LIPS
Catharge by Nars.

I also had my hair done for the first time, ever!! I was afraid it wouldn’t last in my hair as it’s quite long and super thick! But it turned out lovely - we all had fresh flowers in our hair, it was such a ELEGANT touch :)

My favourite sari had to be the one I wore to the reception! Black & gold NEVER goes out of fashion & this one is amazing! So light, easy to move in it but lovely & sparkly at the same time! Again, this was easy to put on as it came ready pleated at the front & at the shoulder :)

It has gorgeous gem & beaded work on the hip of the sari as you can see above & below…

Along with similar embroidery on the shoulder! There’s a close-up of it above & from a short distance below :)

For the reception we literally had 20-30 minutes to get ready (which is why most of my make-up stayed the same apart from a few additions on top of what I already had on) :)

FACE
MAC Studio Sculpt mixed with MAC Face & Body.
Mineralize Skin Finish Powder.
Illuminating concealer by Collection 2000 (LOVE this!!).

CHEEKS
Hoola, Candid Coral by ELF & High Beam as a high light.

EYES
Golden Gaze on the lid with a little bit of Carbon on the crease (all MAC eye shadows). Virgin by UD under my brow bone. Benefit Magic Ink top liner, SuperSHOCK Gel by Avon on my upper & lower waterline. They’re Real Mascara by Benefit & SUPER LUSH GLAMOUR LASHES by Girls with Attitude.

LIPS
LIQUEUR by Sleek & Turkish Delight by Nars.

These are a few of my favourite pictures from the wedding :) It went so well & I had a fantastic time… I want to do it all over again :)

P.S - I got all of my sari’s (minus the one from India) from ANOKHI Sari’s in Leicester - they’re website isn’t any ASOS but I would highly recommend this shop if you’re based in &/or around that area. My sari’s for the wedding were ONE-OFF designer pieces… If you’re like me & you want designer sari’s (that no one else will have) your best bet is to go to the store :)
