Hey bellas. How are you all? The other week I bought a magazine after ages, I got ELLE & it’s got a free Soap & Glory mascara - if you’re looking to try it, get you hands on this issue! So, whilst flicking through it I came across a sample of Rimmel’s new ‘Wake me up’ foundation. I’ve seen loads of adverts of this on TV so was actually quite excited to try it. Personally, I felt there was enough product in the sachet for two faces!

It has to be the first time I’ve tried a sample in a magazine & felt the need to have it in my life! LOL. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it!! One of the main reasons why I needed it was purely because it has little flecks of gold in it - leaving my face looking very fresh & well… totally awake!

RRP: £8.99 (currently on offer at boots for £5.99!) HERE
I’m shade ‘True Nude’

It comes in a cute glass bottle with a bright orange lid. Smells AMAZING, almost berry-like! I was expecting a ‘pouring’ foundation bottle (which I absolutely hate) but to my pleasant surprise I found a pump! They are way more hygienic & quite frankly much cleaner & easier to use - KUDOS to Rimmel for thinking about us beauty lovers ;) It also has a SPF of 15, I’m big on SPFs & prefer wearing foundations with it in.

I tried to picture the hint of shimmer in the foundation - which you can slightly see on the right picture (with flash). If you like mixing a highlighter into your foundation, this is probably the BEST foundation to give you that glowing finish without having to faff about with mixing two products together at a price that isn’t going to break the bank.

I thought I’d add a picture of what it looks like on, as foundation can look different on the back of your hand to your face. I quite like that I don’t need to powder my face or use any highlighter. I love the LUMINOSITY it leaves behind.

I’ve been wearing this every day for almost a week now & love the results I’ve got from it. For the price you pay for 30ml bottle, it definitely meets the outcome I get from using high end foundations!

If you read my blog/know me you’ll know that I prefer light to medium coverage & this is more medium to heavy which is probably why I would leave this as a ‘night time’ or ‘going out’ foundation rather than an everyday thing. But I’m keen to mix this with my daily moisturiser to create my own ‘Wake Me Up Tinted Moisturiser’. Keep an eye out for any updates I make on this post or on Twitter to let you lovelies know. I think this & myface.cosmetics’ mymix foundations have to be my FAVOURITE high street ones :)

What’s your favourite high street foundation? Have you tried Rimmel’s Wake Me Up?

I like this foundation too! What a surprise considering I hate cheap products! I tried the sample in glamour mag. I’ve not had the chance to swatch them all in real life. Any idea what shade I need or what “true nude” translates to in terms of MAC. I think I’d probably need one shade up from you. xx

Pretty!! I like it a lot.
I don’t buy Rimmel because they test on animals. If I want a more glowy look I use a tinted moisturizing or I just use a highlighter later :)

wow your skin looks amazing with this foundation! I’ve done swatches of high street brand foundations in the past and I assumed that they only appeal to people with European skin tones, but this gives me hope in that we’re both asian - so maybe they could have my shade too
    thanks for the great post!

    Hey! Love your reviews..
I have oily skin, do you think that this fondation is good for me?
Sorry for the english, I’m from Brasil. :)

    • Kaushal says:

Hi Mak. Thanks so much! No problem at all. It’s fairly thick in consistency & isn’t oily on my skin. You should be okay with this. It’s a shame they don’t give testers as it’s the perfect thing to have when you’re looking for a new foundation!

  21. Martina says:
